Torroella is a quite little town with nice Stone houses surrounded by apple groves, sunflowers and olive trees. It is set in an agricultural area and it has managed to stay far from the tourist pressure and keep its authenticity although it’s just 3 km from the sea.
It is located in the heart of the Ampurdà and close to the long sandy beach of Sant Pere Pescador,, one of the last unspoilt beaches of the Catalan coast line. It’s the perfect place to visit the main Costa Brava attractions, numerous charming medieval villages, the Dali triangle, monumental Girona and the nieghbouring region of la Garrotxa.
Due to its small size and the limited service offer, it’s not recommended for people travelling without a private car. However it’s a great destination for those travelling by bike: it’s a flat area and there’s a railway station along the line connecting Figueres and Barcelona just 5 km away.
Sant Pere Pescador a village 3 km far from Torroella, offers a wide range of various services.
